History

Today most of the sports medical community accepts and takes Nautilus training principles and concepts for granted. Most of the governing bodies of exercise, fitness and sports science have published training guidelines that are consistent with the guidelines published by Nautilus in the early 1970s. However, in 1970, Nautilus was anything but mainstream.

It is now hard to imagine how controversial Nautilus was as it burst into the scene. Weight lifting was then only a sport. Nautilus was determined to approach strength training as a science. The Nautilus cam revolutionized the entire strength training world.

The founder of Nautilus, Arthur Jones, had a medical background and devoted his entire life to strength training research. His personal ambition, the continuous search for the best possible training method lead the comprehensive researches and studies by Nautilus to be initiated and supported very early at renowned institutions in the U.S. . Consecutive research and constant development of equipment have now more than a 30-year tradition at Nautilus. Research results have never been held behind closed doors, but rather passed on to the instructors, at thousands of seminars and workshops offered by the Nautilus Academy.

Use these 30 years of research and experience from Nautilus, improve your daily work and help your clients achieve better training results!
